US News & World Report Rankings put AE's Grad Program at #1 for Public Institutions, #4 Overall

The graduate program of the Daniel Guggenheim School of Aerospace Engineering has been ranked #4 overall, and #1 among publicly funded universities, according to the results of the 2019 U.S. News & World Report survey, which were released March 20.

The same survey ranked Georgia Tech's College of Engineering’s graduate programs at #8 in the country and #3 among public colleges.

The Guggenheim School is not alone in its elite status. Georgia Tech's School of Industrial and Systems Engineering retained its first-place status for the 28th consecutive year. The biomedical engineering school rose from third to second, while the schools of computer engineering, electrical engineering, materials science & engineering, and mechanical engineering all rose one spot in their respective rankings..

"We are proud to retain the top spot among publicly funded institutions, and not one bit surprised," said AE Chair Dr. Vigor Yang. "Our faculty, our students, and our vision of the future of aerospace engineering are, really, the very best. We will continue to dedicate ourselves to excellence."

"The faculty, staff and graduate students should be proud of the reputation and accomplishments of our eight engineering schools and the College as a whole," said Steve McLaughlin, dean of the College of Engineering.

"With all Georgia Tech graduate engineering programs placed in the top ten nationally, it is through their hard work that we continue to be recognized as one of the premier engineering colleges in the Nation. We are gratified that our peers recognize the efforts we make toward providing an exemplary graduate school environment and exceptional levels of research productivity.”
